Peggie, On your recommendation I installed a Lectra San last winter. So far I am very happy with it, 1.6 ah per use and only when solid are flushed. Q: can I still add vinegar when leaving the boat for the week to keep the hoses clean and fresh? Q2: I am getting a low voltage (quick flashing yellow) _if the 440 ah house bank is not freshly charged. The cables are the correct/over size. Is this normal?

Vinegar is good for a Lectra/San

Won't hurt it, and helps prevent mineral buildup on the electrodes As for you low voltage light...if it goes away when the battery is freshly charged, the problem has to be the battery, not the Lectra/San. The battery may be old or defective and can't hold a charge...it may no longer even be taking a full charge. Or, what else is on that circuit that could be draining power? The L/S should be all by itself on its own circuit How long is the cable? Even the right size can only be so long. Whatever it is, look to your battery and wiring for the source and solution

how much vinegar?

I would guess 1/4 cup when I leave for the week?

At least a cup...even two

And put it down the toilet UNdiluted...use the "dry" setting. Just a 1/4 cup would have about as much impact in 1.75 gallons as an eye-dropper of vermouth has on a bottle of gin. :)
