I've considered converting to a Lectra San system for my Catalina 400. Unfortunately, pump out stations can be hard to find in my area (only one in Gig Harbor and it is only open seasonally) and sometimes they aren't in working order.

I like the system for all the usual reasons but am not sure if it would work well on my boat. The C400 has two heads, fore and aft. Each has their own 20 gal holding tank. I would love to be able to install a Lectra San system along with a Hold'n Treat system so that I would have the option of using a holding tank when I'm in the very, very few NDZ's in the PNW.

The Hold'n Treat system, along with the Lectra San can handle two heads, but my concern is being able to route the forward head to the aft holding tank. It seems like an awfully long way to go.

Anyway, anyone have experience doing this in a ~40 foot boat with two heads?

6 feet is the max distance from a toilet

(That's in the manual, btw). That's because 6' is about the max distance bowl contents will travel in the amount of time anyone will spend pumping a manual toilet or leave their finger on a flush button...and the device can't treat waste that doesn't make it all the way into the treatment unit.

So your options are: 1). Add an ElectroScan and "hold 'n' treat" system only to the most used toilet, which would require that the other toilet would go into the tank. Works pretty well if the 2nd toilet is rarely used. 2). Two separate ElectroScans...but only one "hold 'n' treat." On the rare occasions when you'd have to use a tank, everyone can bite the bullet use that head for the duration.

Thanks. I looked through the manuals but missed that part. Makes sense though. Your option #2 sounds great (although expensive).

I have to admit that I'm lusting after the extra storage space I would have if I could get rid of one holding tank. :)
