Is there a product on the market that can be used to clean the head and when pumped into the Lectra San will also act as a cleaner/deodorant. Thanks, Tarheel

Lectra/San shouldn't need cleaner/deodorant

It creates its own "deodorant" (hypochlorous acid--a type of chlorine) by charging the ions in salt water...that solution kills bacteria, which also completely eliminates odor. The discharge should be odorless and look the same as a cupful of 50% skim milk and 50% water, to which about a teaspoon of chocolate syrup has been added. Any more color and/or any odor from the discharge is an indication that the unit isn't treating the waste. Odor inside the boat can also be an indication that it isn't working...or that it's leaking...or permeated hoses. The only bowl cleaner--only cleaning product of any kind--that won't damage the electrodes in it is Raritan C.P. Cleans Potties. White vinegar, to prevent sea water calcium carbonate buildup in the head discharge hose won't hurt it...but NOTHING else can be used with a Lectra/San. Describe your odor problem for me--inside the boat...the discharge? If inside the boat, all the time...only when the toilet is flushed? After the boat has been sitting for a few a weeks? How old is the L/S? I need the answers to ALL those questions, plus anything else you can think of.
