I'm starting a pool on when Pete and Hank will leave the dock for the first time this season??? Pete, the owner of a Hunter 33, and Hank the owner of a Catalina 30 have been in the water for quite some time now. I am picking July 1st for their first foray out to the broad expanse of ocean at their immediate doorstep. Any other guesses? Dave

Yeah these guys always have an excuse, always another piece of stainless to polish or a little spot of gelcoat that looks a little faded. It's really hard to break them away from "scrubbing" to actually go sailing. I'm retracting my previous post and I'm now estimating LABOR DAY before they go out. dave

When the Holding Tank is Full!
There's at least on previous member of the DOCK POTATO YACHT CLUB in my marina that didn't leave his slip until the holding tank was full. Good news - he had a BAYLINER! Barry (DPYC member)

Dave, Where have you been good neighbor? We went for a shake down cruise three weeks ago, tuned the rigging and flushed the tanks. Also we added had another grand child to the family acouple weekends ago. See ya soon and lets try out your new sails. Hank

Dave, I would like to register a formal protest to Hank leaving the dock three weeks ago! This is strickly hearsay as no no one saw him leave or come back! I will freely admit to not haveing left the dock but feel that all departures must be verified! Since you are running the pool we will need a ruling from you on this to see if it is a bonified departure.

Hank gets no credit
When Hank posted his notice that he had in fact left the dock on a shakedown test sail this season I took him at face value. Having known Hank for years and always finding him trustworthy. It appears now that others in the neighborhood don't think so highly of Hank as noted in Pete's recent post where Hank's integrity is questioned. Hank, regardless of Pete not believing you, I do, and will continue giving you credit for your initial sail. The pool is still open on Pete who has not left the dock, freely admits it, and has no immediate plan to rectify the situation. I'm looking at Labor Day for Pete but might need to don my scuba equipment and scrub his hull by then, the weeds will likely be anchored to the sea bottom at that point. Hank Congratulations on you new grandchild!!!!! dave
