i always had water coming in the cabin during rainstorms it was leaking in where the plexiglass slider meets the track i used adhesive velcro from home depot the 3/4 inch stuff fits perfect i simply opened the slider and proped it open on its legs then put the velcro (fuzzy side) on the companyonway slider track i put it all the way on both sides so when i lowered the hatch it rested on top of the velcro now it is much easier to slide back and forth and it poured this weekend and not a drop inside the cabin

Carl, It sounds like a heck of a good idea!

I'll try it tomorrow morning as that was the next project. It rained like hell the last week and I've found every leak. Your repair will help the largest problem. If I understand what you said then I will put the soft side of the velcro on the tract? Did you apply any type of lubricant? I also assume that this was done dry. It is supposed to rain tomorrow afternoon so we shall see. Thanks for the posting. Ray S/V Speedy

WOW! Yet another use for Velcro

Great idea Carl! How about going one step further? If you rub a bit of dry teflon lube into the 'fuzz', the hatch will slide even easier! I'm stoppin' by the Depot on my way out tomorrow!
