all wet
I have an 84 h20 with an irratating leak. Water appears on the floor in the cabin, about 1/2 to 3/4 inches deep. It seems to come in through a hole in the back under the cockpit floor. don't know if the hole is supposed to be there or was cut by a previous owner looking for the leak. That location would be under the aft part of the cockpit floor just in front of the transom, so I assume the bildge is full of water and this is just the overflow, through that hole. I've looked in all the little access panels in the cabin, and found a leaky thru-hull fitting from the sink, and replaced it, but still have water coming in somewhere. It seems to be at its worst when the boat is heeling up and the stern is down somewhat, then when it levels out the water must spill over the hole and into the cabin. I'd like to replace the two scupper fittings just to eliminate that possibility, but don't know quite how. Do you drill out the centers or what? Also are the scuppers supposed to have plugs in them? Any help would be appreciated. Don't know any sailors here-just powerboaters, and they don't have any ideas.
