Having problems with two rain leaks! First leak is from the anchor box, leaking into hull. Second leak, the rain water is puddling in rear port storage compartment. All of our stantions, cleats and lights have been taken off and caulked. The leak has gotten better, but some water is still getting in. Any ideas?

C-25 Anchor Locker Leaks.

My (used) '79 C-25 came with lots of ineffective caulking around the anchor locker in the V-berth area, and some really poor fiberglass patches inside the locker itself. I've gone to some trouble to fiberglass the inside of the anchor locker all around, including building water tight covers for the whale eye lights (found on earlier boats). I also replaced the soda straw sized drain tube with 1/2"SCH80PVC pipe, sealed to the inside with epoxy, and outside with matching gelcoat. Leaks can be the result of water traveling amazing distances between the the deck and headliner. Other than doing a lot of rebedding, I don't know of an easy way to locata and stop such a mystery rainwater leak. -- Leon Sisson

Is the "rear port storage" a cockpit lazerette? If so, could the hinges be leaking? You mentioned stanchions, portlights & cleats were rebed...what about other deck hardware? Do you have a sail track on the toe rail? I know I have a couple of small leaks from mine but they're not bad enough to completely rebed the bugger. Sorry to not be very specific but just about any thru-deck fitting, etc could be the culprit. It'll just take trial & error to find it. Good luck! LaDonna
