Have you considered just torquing down the bolts on the toe rail? I think most of the older boats had a butyl caulk that was applied to the joint before the deck was put into place. It stay pliable for ever.

I suggest that you use one of the methods in the archives to determine where it is actually coming from. I've seen people waste a lot of time and do some damage acting on assumptions about leaks.

I developed a small lead at the bow. Most noticeable when pounding into a head sea. I did as Steve suggests, and found some of the hull / deck /rail carriage bolts were pretty loose. Tightened everything up from bow to stern on each side, problem solved. However, if yours is into the aft cabin when at rest, it may be something else. Still, tightening the deck bolts is a good idea.

I had a problem like that. And I had to change the teak and that solved that problem. Unfortunaly I have another leak somewhere that causes water in the kitchen and the cabinets above as I wrote a few weeks ago.

One of our annual spring commissioning jobs is tightening all the toe rail bolts. This has eliminated hull-deck joint leaks on our '86 H31.

Hi
We purchased the boat a couple of months ago and have a similar leak.It appears as if the water is coming from under the fridge area.I will be tearing the bulkhead out on the fwd side of the fridge soon.

Have you had any luck with yours?
