My starboard storage box in the cockpit leaks whenever it rains or I hose it down. I keep the gas can and starting battery in there and the box gets a couple of inches in there that I have to sponge out. Any suggestions??

I don't know how the cover closes on your compartment.
Assuming that's where the water is coming in.
I had a similar problem on a different boat.

I used some of that adhesive weather stripping to form a gasket on the inside of the lid. Although it did require replacing every couple of years. Your local hardware store may have something more durable.

It's a bitch when the boat is on the trailer and they both fill up then the bow flips up in the air as you climb up the ladder. Your lying on the ground waiting for the boat to slide off the trailer right on top of you.

I still use the sponge

our 2 cents

The storage boxes both Starbord and Port on our 23.5 have a lip that in theory should stop rain or spray from entering the compartments when the lids are closed ... the only way I could imagine that water would get in is the lid may be cracked perhaps around the hinges? We have only had our boat for 4 weeks and store it on trailer ... only had 2 rain storms so far and no water has gotten in. I did have to replace all 6 of the rubber feet ... Home Depot rubber feet

Our surveyor suggested that we install through hull drains similar to the anchor locker drain ... but unless there is a problem we will just use a sponge if it gets wet.
