Recently had my transmission pulled for a rebuild. (140 hours) and then job relocated boat south to warm weather ( not complaining). Unfortunately shaft has developed a fairly good leak aroung black rubber clamped fitting where the shaft enters the hull. Any one have any idea what a do it yourselfer can do ?

ok....well, first thing to do is look up "stuffing box" in the archives....tons of useful information. The other is to checkout the following link...very useful. Essentially, you just need to either adjust the box and/or replace the packing. Peter
