HELP!!!! I have a 1994 Hunter 29.5 and all 6 of the portlights leak to the point that I could just leave them open and it would make minimal difference! I would like to replace the cheap existing portlights with something that will last longer and no longer give me any headaches. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone here already tackled this project? I have found some Hood Stainless Steel Passage Series Portlights that "look" as if they might work. I am hoping someone may have already done the legwork and can save me the research time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.....

I replaced mine a couple of years ago and have not had a problem since. Check this link.http://forums.hunter.sailboatowners.com/showthread.php?p=422640
Monty thanks for the reply. This is a great site with a lot of experienced people here. I am somewhat new to sailing and trying to figure my way through the learning process. I sailed a little bit with my father when I was young and really enjoyed it. So I thought I would pick up a family friendly boat and learn it together with my 3 kids and wife. So far we are having a blast!!!

So you installed solid non opening windows in place of the 4 smaller windows and 2 opening portlights in place of the crappy one in the galley and head?.?.? Makes sense. I don't see any reason to open the smaller ones. They don't really add any circulation any way. I'm not really sure what Hunter was thinking when the designed that one. I think I'm going to have a go at the portlights this summer when the blow stops or this winter.

On a different note I have 2 other issues I am trying to figure out. The previous owner disconnected the hot water from the engine and I would like to hook it back up so my family can have a warm freshwater rinse after a swim in the salt. Does anyone know if there is a diagram of this or any advice?

Second question, on the boom the previous owner un-rigged the reef 1 and reef 2 lines, as well as the some of the other rigging in the boom. It appears to my untrained eye that the toping lift is not properly connected to the back of the boom and there is an extra "outlet" (for lack of a better word) for another line on the lower half of the boom towards the back third. I don't know if that makes sense or not but it looks like all of the original rigging on the boom has been undone. I sure would like to return it to it's original config. Any help, advice, and/or diagrams out there?

Thanks in advance.....
