Leaking hatch on Beneteau 36.7

I have a Beneteau 36.7 that when the hatch is closed the seal it sits on needs replacing. if the boat is keeled over the waster lands on the glass then simply falls into the boat as this seal is worn. The problem i have is there seems to be no way this glass can be lifted to replace seal. The section of fiber glass appears to be very large and glued into place.
has anyone out there had this problem and how did they solve it.
