I have a 79 30' and my fuel tank is leaking. Has anyone taken their tank out? Any ideas on how to drain it?

to drain the tank

.... If yours has a fuel gauge on top, simply unscrew that, remove it, and use a pump or siphon (diesel safe!) to remove the fuel into a jerry can(s). You might get lucky and have an inspection port on top, and you can go through there as well. There are several pumps available for oil/fuel change at any good marine store. Also, check where the fuel comes out to feed to the engine. usually there is a fuel line that can be removed at that point and you could drain from that point. The repair options are covered in some detail in the archives, and there are a lot of approaches. One I liked was to cut the top of the old tank out and drop in a new bladder tank. Good luck with it... Sanders
