Leaking fuel pump

The fuel pump on my Yanmar 2GM is leaking slightly. I believe the best method of fixing it would be to remove it and service it. I can only just see part of this pump owing to its location on my h335. Is it possible to remove then re-install with such limiterd visibility?Only one other possible method without engine removal is to remove what I believe is the water cooled exhaust manifold then gwet at the pump from the top.

Colin, removing and replacing the fuel pump is not a simple job,and it is not real common for the pump to leak. Are you SURE it is the pump and not a fitting on top of the pump or a line leaking? I would make very very sure it is the pump before removing it.As you said it is hard to see the pump,you do not have to remove the engine to remove the pump.You will most likely need to remove the water exchanger,it is not that hard to do and will give you room to lift the pump out.I would caution you to make sure the pump is in fact leaking before you go thru all this work.Check the line and connectons first. You might also just check to see that the pump bolts are tight. Good Luck !

Thanks for your help Pete, the bolts around the top of the fuel pump were loose and fuel was leaking from between the upper and lower halves.I was able to gain access by taking apart half of the aft cabin, but I think that was a better option than removing the water exchanger.Anyway think I have go it cracked, apart of course from having to put my aft cabin back together again.
