Leaking front window

I have a small leak in the right front window on my 260. Question: if the window is removed is the bed that it sits in sealed so there is no danger of water getting inside the hull? It it is sealed, I would assume that a bead of silicon on the INSIDE would fix the problem for the time being. The leak is currently very small and I don't want a major job on my hands at this point. Suggestions?

Have a beer

Sailboats leak. The more you use them, the more they leak, because they tend to broken in literally. This is the only downside to sailing. If only life were so simple.

Leak

I've been chasing a front window leak on our 460 for two years. This past weekend I finally dug out ALL the caulk around the window and got ready to replace it. As I was masking off the edges I decided to remove the snaps that hold the plastic sun screen, to facilitate the masking. Much to my surprise, under one snap, I found a crack in the fiberglass--very small, but big enough to let the water in. Now I've recaulked all, and time will tell. You might want to try some Captain Tolly's creeping crack cure (West Marine) before you go through the hastle of digging out the caulk. Stuff works great. Good luck!
