My question is this I just bought a 1996 26' . The guy who had this boat only took it out 4 times.I waas like new only all lot of dirt from setting so long. I have ordered a owners manual but I know this will not be in it. The cabin over head hatch leaks , water looks like it is coming in from theback of the glass that slides up into the pop-up. does any one know or have had that problem and what did you do to fixit. It has really messed up the wood on the deck in the cabin. Other than that I haven't found out any more problems yet. I'm sure I will with is boat setting up for so long. I can't wait to get it out of the watter and see the bottom. Any help on the above will be appreaticated. Ken Bishop top686@aol.com

This is common in all the older 26's and is easily fixed. Look in the archives, you should find plenty of answers. What kind of damage did you get on the sole? Tom/Ft Worth

How was boat stored?

This leak may not be as bad as you think. If the boat was stored with the bow down it might cause water to flow down the hatch and into the cabin.

Buy a Sunbrella cover.

We have a 1997 h26 and I did all the right things, pulled the wood off, reset them in marine silicone, made sure the screws were tightened all the way, etc. The problem I found is that if your boat's stern faces into the prevailing wind, if you keep it in a slip, the wind will drive water under the plexiglass top and the top hatch board when it rains. We put on a cover, which we bought thru this site and we no longer have a water problem. Good luck.
