LEAK ABOVE REAR BERTH

I AM A RECENT 1993 VISION 32 OWNER AND HAVE DISCOVERED A SMALL LEAK IN THE REAR BERTH.IT APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE AREA JUST BEHIND THE STEERING PEDESTAL. LEAK OCCURS DURING RAIN , WASHING ETC. JUST ENOUGH WATER TO SOAK A PORTION OF THE MATTRESS.HAS ANYONE ELSE DEVELOPED THIS PROBLEM??CAN ANYONE ADVISE HOW TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM AND RECOMMEND HOW TO CORRECT IT??

Try resealing the six screws that secure the access panel to steering quadrant(grate behind wheel) Good Luck.V32 Prologue

We had a couple of leaks in the aft cabin of our 89 V32, took 2 years to find it but turned out that one of the bolts that holds the traveler track was missing- although there was a hole there (hence leak). There is a small access panel on either side of the track, one in the head, one over the galley where you could check. Good luck, I hate tracking down leaks

I had the same problem. The six screws that hold the back deck over the steering mechanics is a good place to start. Mine also had some electronics going through the side into the aft spaces that needed sealing. That should take care of it. I have been told that the steering pedestal might also be the culprit, however I found this not to be the case.

Leak in aft berth overhead

I have been fighting one that runs out aft of the pedistal on the aft bulkhead of the aft cabin for three years. Think I have solved it now, but will have to go through another winter of rains. It could be coming through the six screws as mentioned, but my leak was where the engine control cables and some other wiring go through the deck under the hatch with the six screws. I found that my sealer was not sticking to the control cables, so I wrapped them with black electrical tape before applying the sealer on the cables where they go through the fiberglass. So far no leak. Good luck. Also, I found another hole in the fiberglass in the same area, that someone had drilled and put sealer in the hole. The sealer was not sticking well, so I roughed up the glass and resealed.
