Leading lines aft

I have a 1987 Hunter 23, #1256, and am interested in leading all lines into the cockpit. Does anyone have any schematics, material listings, designs, pictures, etc. that can help solve this issue? The design of the cabin structure makes leading lines aft somewhat difficult without building up above cabin top to handle the distribution of lines. I would appreciate any ideas so that I can get started for next spring - the snow has started coming!

Been There Done That

Gil Its a simple solution. First get the mast plate from Dwyer that will fit under the mast step. You will want the one that has a hook for the boom-vang it is not pictured on ther web site you will need to call them. Then use the Harkin Blocks that you can lay sideways on the deck they have screw eylets on the so they can be screwed to the deck. You can space these real close at the spot where the halyards turn to go aft. This is the only way to do it with out makeing some montster toe jammer built up on the deck. I did this on my 23 and it works real weel. You can then through bolt the blocks to the deck. Cliff

Z spar mast?

Mine's an '87 also so I presume you have a Z spar mast. I did this recently and didn't need a mast base organizer. Simply contacted US Spars in Florida and they sent me a $3 sheave to lead the jib halyard out the base of the mast (like the main halyard already was). Then I put a double block deck organizer 90 degrees from the mast to turn the halyards back to a double rope clutch. I'd go with 5/16ths halyards to work best on this mast. I used 3/8ths and had to change over. I can send you pictures this weekend.

Why Not Share With All

MIke, If you have pictures of your set-up, please put them on the Photo FDorum section of this web site. I bet a lot of h-23 owners can benefit form them. Thanks Dave Laing s/v WindSong h-23
