Has anyone rigged the halyards to run to the cockpit or seen any good "How-to" articles/photos on this subject? I have a basic understanding but want to make sure I do my homework on this before I start drilling holes where I don't need to! Any help would be appreciated.

Fairleads

Hi Tom - Just make sure all the "leads" are "fair" by planning the route the control lines go carefully. They need direct runs to the sheaves in deck organizers and then good runs to any cabintop winches and clutches you may be using. Set it up the way that works best for you! Best, Trevor

Leading lines aft

Om my C-22, I use Shaefer turning blocks on pivoting bases secured to the bottom of the mast just above the mast step. The main halyard turning block is through bolted through the mast with long #10 screws. I actually through bolt it into a second Shaefer turning block with a pivoting base using barrel nuts. This second turning block is for the tack reef. The jib halyard turning block can be done the same way only is is mounted on the aft flat side of the mast as opposed to the forward flat side for the main halyard. As these turning blocks swivel, I then aligned placemant of cheek blocks to turn the lines towards the cockpit and down along the sides of the handrails. Finally I installed rope clutches and cleats accordingly. Hope this helps.
