I have a 1976 Hunter 30. I love the boat, and I single handed it a lot this summer. Flaking the main is a real pain when you all alone. Any one have any warm and fuzzy feelings about one make or model lazy jack as opposed to another?

Here's One.

I have something very similar on my H37C. They retract to the mast when not in use. For me that is most of the time, even when I single-hand. I use them when the water is too rough to be up there while OTTO steers. Good Old Boat also had instructions for a DIY project, almost identical to EZ-JAX. Mine were purchased from Sailnet years ago. Very much like EZ-Jax but much cheaper. Five years later still in fine condition. And here's another DIY site: http://www.alohaowners.com/pages/projects/ezjax/ezjax.htm

Purchased similiar system

Purchased similiar system from SailCare. Now four season's in use and had to replace the bugee shock cord. Purchased fifty feet on ebay and re-corded at minimal expense. This is a make-it -yourself project as the parts are available. Ed's link has a good diagram. Ian s/v Meant to Be '79 Hunter 30'
