Hi; We are seriously considering a Schaefer lazy jack system or an E-Z Jax. Does anyone have either of these? Does anyone recommend either of these? Would they be a pain for trailering? Will the Schaefer chafe the sail? Any recommendations/opinions would be very helpful. Thanks, Linda

Schaefer lazy jack system

Linda, I fitted a Schaefer system and whilst it works fine for controlling the sail lowering it is a bit fiddly if you have a sail cover. That is because the jack lines have to be released to put on the sail cover and re-tensioned when removing the sailcover. In retrospect I would go for a lazy jack system with a catcher bag/sail cover that fits onto to the boom track.
