Endless Summer is a 1983 Hunter 31 (hull #58) and we want to add a main sail taming (lazy jack) system. Any suggestions? We had narrowed it down to Harken and Wichard, but then I found that Wichard is FRENCH! So we had it down to Harken. Then I saw the Schaefer lazy jacks and they looke pretty good too. The Dutchman system is out for financial reasons. Thanks for your help. Roger and Susie Mummah

Take a look at Related Link Roger. I bought almost the identical thing from Sailnet for my H37C. But now I see they only sell Schaefer and Harken. Instead of blocks and lines most of mine is shockcord. It stows nicely against the mast. It is always out of the way except when I drop the main.

Schaefer on mine

I added the Schaefer to my former H31. Easy to install although you may have to pull the mast depending on your physical dexterity. One note: there's a catch in raising the mainsail as the battens will catch on the lines as u go up. Requires that you be dead into the wind when you raise it. Lots has been written here about this problem and there might be some suggestions or solutions. Now have the Dutchman on my 37.5, which is nice. It's kind of a toss up in my opinion on which one is best. Both have +/-.
