I just saw a really nice lazy jack main sail cover system. photo attached. lazy jack is attached to the main sail cover. It appears that there is a zipper running along the top of the main sail. This 25 is on Detroit Lake in Oregon. Can anyone tell me where such a system can be obtained?

looks like the Doyle 'StackPack'. My issue is with having lazy jacks deployed all the time. If you use the retractable system they are out of the way until it's time to strike the main. Then they are stowed and a regular sail cover can still be used.

Alan's right, it looks like a Doyle or Mack sails stack pack. Beside the SP consuming a percentage of the lower potion of your sails draft and entire foot, the top battons on the roachy main of a 26/260 sail will drive you into bouts of frustration getting hung on the lines when the main's hoisted in any amount of breeze.

There is a simple way to rig lazy jacks on a 260 that might still be in the knowledge base. retracting them to the mast when the sail cover goes on is the simplest/cheapest way to go. Here's a pic i had from an upgrade I considered but decided against it because I was stepping my mast more than a 5y/o with a jack-in-the-box. Give it a go and let us know how it goes either way.

Hope that helps. M&K

Looks great, but what are you willing to spend?

These units run about $100.00/ft of boom length. If you have the ability you can get a kit and make one for 50-60% less.

Our 2003 H356 came with integrated lazy jacks and mainsail cover. This is the "real" main, not the furling main.

Doyle calls theirs a Stack pack, Mack Sails calls theirs a Mack Pack. Sail Rite has a kit they call Sail Pack.

There are a couple of articles in the current issue of "Good Old Boat" (July/August) that talk about designing your own lazy jack systems and making your own lazy-jack mainsail cover based on the stack pack/sail pack model. If you're not familiar with the journal, my Barnes and Noble carries it in its magazine racks or go to www.goodoldboat.com.

I think Southwinds magazine also did a 2pt piece on sewing up one too. It can be found on-line.
