The rubber bushings that support the lazarette covers on my 1992 Hunter 30 are disintegrating. Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement bushings?

Try an electronics store. You'll need to look for a package of large rubber electronic equipment feet. They usually have a hole in the bottom to put a screw through. If that fails try Home Depot. They may have some small furniture feet or cabinet door stops that will work.

Found some in Home Depot

in the hardware row where they have casters. The white ones come 4 to a package and fit perfectly. Glenn WindWisp

Bumpers

Dave: I found them at both electronic stores and at Home Depot. I think the ones at Home Depot where just a little short but appear to be OK. Our Home Depot did not have them originally, so you may need to check a couple of different stores.

Should you use them?

If the locker lids are sitting on rubber/plastic/nylon bumpers then they are not sealed. Is that not a problem? How do you keep the water out? Even with a one-inch overlap a lot of water will get in if the cockpit is flooded. On my old H37C the locker lids(4) sit on a rubber seal around the entire perimeter.

Not much choice to this design!

Ed makes a good point. The problem I see is that there is not much choice to this design. The lid for the seats sit are supported by these bumpers and I do not see any practical way to alter this design. I suppose that someone could build up the lip on the seats, probably too expensive for most of us that do not plan on sailing to far off places.
