Well, I come home today to find the boom, main sail, and jib (in furler) now installed. Lo and behold, they decided on their own to install the instruments (ST40 knot and depth) in the bulkhead on the starboard side instead of a pod. I wanted them mounted on a pod so that when I decided to add my wind instrument that it could be mounted on the pod as well. It is difficult for me to see the wind angle indicator from that far away. If nothing else, I was ademant about having the instruments installed on a pod right by the helm. So, what are my options? If I have them remounted on a pod, then what happens to the cutouts where they were originally installed? Can the glass be repaired to where it will be undetectable? If not, what do you guys think this flub is worth? Thanks again, Darren

Resolution

Dealer was more than willing to resolve the issue - and the quote that I was given for instrument installation did not include cost of parts for a pod or pedestal guard - so I wasn't charged for that. There was a breakdown in communication along the line which resulted in the confusion about instrument location. After reading the comments here, I think I am going to leave them where they are for now. The reality is that I will be sailing solo or only with a passenger in one of the stern rail seats 90% of the time anyway. So, a crowded cockpit shouldn't be an issue for me. Delivery was scheduled for tomorrow, but weather is going to be more than a little iffy tomorrow, so we are now rescheduled for Saturday. Again, thanks for the advice... I will be seeking input on projects very soon! Darren
