Last weekend I discovered a whisker pole hanging off the cabin ceiling in the rear quarter berth. This being just another surprise finding in the included inventory of this new to me H30C. I'm not very familiar with the rigging of said pole, and was wondering if someone could guide me through the process. The pole is similar to this one in the image below.

My best guess is that the spike goes through the grommet at the clew of the headsail, but I have no idea where the latch would attach. thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.

Check on your mast. I don't have that set up but I think that spike end goes into a fitting on the mast whereas the hook end will clip onto your sheet (if using the jib) or your guy (if using a spinnaker).

There should be a ring on the front of your mast, about five or six feet off of your deck.

The clip goes onto that, and the spike goes through the clew grommet.

Thanks Chris, but no ring or other fixture on the mast that would be in the region where the latch should go. After a little more searching I understand exactly what you propose. I'll be buying a whisker pole latch ring and mounting it on the mast. Thanks brother!
