Hi all,
I took our boat Dalmatian for the last ride this week carrying the buyer, surveyor, and broker aboard. It performed beautifully under power and sail getting 8.5 kts under power and 7.5 kts in light winds. There was an unforeseen problem with squirrels getting into the stackpack while it was on the hard getting the bottom work done, they chewed some of the main sail and furling line to the foresail. We spent a good deal of time emptying all the extra tools and personal items selling some, giving some, and bringing the rest home.
We left the new buyer all he would need for the boat for many years and hope he will find Dalmatian to be the comfortable cruiser that we had. One of our friends asked when did we decide to sell. I told him it was like reefing, if you think you should it’s probably getting too late.
