Has anyone purchased a larger Jib for their H240? How large and did you have to modify your rigging? I believe the 240 comes standard with about a 100. I was interested in going 20-50 percent larger. However the cables dropping off the spreader appear to be in the way.

You can't go very far at all because of the shroud

interference with the jib sheets. Maybe 20% at most and I doubt that is worth the trouble and expence. Outfitting the boat with a traveler and adjustable jib sheet blocks is a better way to go. Then add a spinaker and sock after the roller furling jib. Outa money yet? There is always the 260 and 305...and... Ray S/V Speedy 95 H26

Dont do it

The 240 is set up so the driving sail is the main. It comes stock with a 0. This is plenty in all but very light off wind situations. In that case a cruising spinaker is the way to go. If you added a larger headsail the sail shape would suck due to lack of ability to move the leads for the jib and the position of the shrouds. At 10 knots or more the last thing you will want on this boat when going to windward is more jib.

Thanks guys, that's kind of what I thought. :)

I'll look into the cruising spinaker. Thanks for the help
