Does anybody sail and overnight at Lake Winnipesaukee in NH? I'll put in at the southern part and sail into the central part and am curious about places (gunkholes) to anchor for an overnight or good marinas? Any advice would be appreciated! Kevin B.

Sail mid week

Sail midweek as this lake is a high speed power boaters lake. Be sure to purchase the rules of the road and updated charts for that lake. Gunkholes now thats interesting, I know off none in Winnipesaukee. Meridth bay, or wolfeboro, Center harbor, any of those harbors all have first come first serve dock space, some with time limits. I tried to sail Lake winnipesaukee once and it can be sailed but I would do it midweek because weekend it's noisey. You would be better off to sail the NH and Maine Coast.

You need to be aware that...

"No discharge" on Lake Winnepesaukee not only applies to sewage (toilet waste), but also to gray water (galley, bath and shower water. So everything that goes down your sinks, even just water, must be held for pumpout or disposal ashore. If you're only gonna be there for a weekend, the simplest solution might be to disconnect your sink drains and attach a short section of hose to the sinks that drains into gallon milk jugs. And be VERY sparing with your water useage. You can reconnect the sink drain plumbing when you leave.
