How about a great lakes sailing association

Could the scope of the association be increased to cover all of the great lakes? We would all have much in common. Similar sailing conditions, fresh water, seasons etc. In fact, many do travel amongst the Great Lakes. Rendevous could take place on more than 1 lake, we could share information when for example, someone sails from Chicago to the North channel or from Georgian Bay to Mackinaw. I keep my boat on Georgian Bay, hence my bias.

Great lakes Association?

Warren, thanks for the interest, I would encourage the Hunter owners from Georgian Bay and Lake Huron to form an association from your area, the main purpose of any club is the social activities it can generate, i.e. Rendezvous. We are finding the distances a problem when setting up the LOHSA. If you are willing to take the "Bull by the horns" and would like to form a GBHSA I would be willing to lend any assistance you might require, if you are interested in joining LOHSA we love to have you on board! P.S. I used to sail my C&C 33 out of the Midland Bay Sailing Club and Blue Water Yacht Club at Bruce Mines Ont John Vasey Commodore LOHSA

To all Lake Ontario Hunter Sailing Association hopefulls: I have posted an application form on my home web site "Lake Ontario Sailing". Good luck Ken and company

Ken, Sounds like you've got a great bunch of people back there. I still envy you not having to deal with salt water corrosion. Maybe a few black flies is a small price to pay :). Jeff, Carol, and Boat Cat s/v Twilight

Great Lakes HSA's

The last data I had regarding HSA's on the Great Lakes: Lake Erie South Shore HSA (HSA Station #7) (South Shore - Lake Erie); HSA Station #3 (Lake Erie, St. Clair and lower Huron); HSA West Michigan (Eastshore - Lake Michigan); and Lake Michignn HSA (Southern Lake Michigan). I no longer have information regarding the POCs for these HSA's, but HUNTER MARINE might. NEVERMORE

LOHSA dealer perspective

We are delighted that the association is taking shape. Our company, Angus Yachts of Toronto, has sold nearly 300 Hunter sailboats since 1986. Wouldn't it be great if everybody joined? Looking forward to the first big rendezvous! Alan Adelkind, Partner AYOT

Welcome aboard Alan

It's great watching this come together. I am sure we will have a wonderful time at Rendezvous 2000 here in Rochester, NY on July 21-23. Alan, if you have a list of Hunter buyers, you could help us out by spreading the word. Perhaps sending a card announcing LOHSA or mention in a newsletter. We also have a new official web site at http://lohsa.4mg.com/index.html . There we have an application form, copy of bylaws, and an announcement for Rendezvous 2000. Again, welcome aboard! For John Vasey LOHSA

HiJohn, Thanks for your interest in the UK Legend Owners Association (There is another excellent company with the name Hunter based in England and trading in Europe). Many apologies for us not having our own website and I must admit that we have not bothered too much about it. There is a home page which was set up some years ago by a former member at a time when the WWW was not as universal as it is now. Our UK dealer, Opal Marine, also has a new website and has offered us a link to our own site, but we have still to take up on this When I became Commodore of the LOA I contacted Phil Herring and enquired if the HOW was a US only thing or could we muscle in. He welcomed our presence so, since then, we have simply seen the Legend Owners Association as part of the big world wide family of Hunter boat owners. Good luck with yours, Don Alexander donalex@compuserve.com
