Lake Lanier storms yesterday, major damage at Aqualand Marina

Hunter 340 Lake Lanier, GA
Tropical moisture and a cold front produced a line of thunderstorms that apparently collapsed right over the lake, causing significant damage to boats and docks. Fortunately, our boat and dock (O dock) were spared the worst of it, but four 20-something ft sailboats on the next dock over (N) lost their rigs when large pieces of metal roof from the next covered dock (M) blew into their masts. Lots of trees down, and I didn't get over to the northeast docks to see what happened there.

Attached is a link to an 11 minute youtube video made by a houseboater on L dock, much of it during the storm. In the intro, to the right of the lady's head, you can see the masts that were taken out. At the 8:08 mark, over the roof of the covered dock you can see the masts of Grace and her O dock neighbors. Too close for comfort.
