Laguna Yachts
Laguna Yachts were made up to and including 1987. Some of he earlier ones were called Laguna Windrose. After that the molds were sold to a company in Kansas and they made them until about 2000 under the name Classic Yachts. I have heard of a couple of '89 models that had Laguna on them but they must be leftovers sold by Classic. I was told that the molds were destroyed in a fire but haven't been able to verify that. If so its a shame they are good boats. I think all the Lagunas were designed by Shad Turner. There is not much info on the web but what there is can be found on the MSN forum Lost Laguna Sloops or another MSN site called Wispernauts. As a rule the Laguna boats are roomy for their size and although not perfect seem to be as well built as well as the other producton line boats of their time. I am not sure about the 30 but the smaller boats made through about 1985 have a headliner that by now is in bad shape on most of them. Our '87 26'has a deckliner that eleminated the headliner problem and looks better to boot. We have a 22' project boat that we are fighting the headliner problem with. There are usually a few Laguna's for sale on Yacht World that may help you compare prices.
