Ladder Steps

Getting on in age, I find it more and more difficult to place my bare feet on the ladder rungs after swimming. In order to make life more pleasurable I install foam pipe insulation on the rungs each year. Has anyone found a commercial step that can be placed on the ladder rungs that will be more comfortable. Thanks

Catalogs?

I'm with you Alan, those steps hurt! In the Boat-US catalog(www.boatus-store.com/) I selected "Anchoring", then "Ladders..." and found some PVC snap-on steps. There are others in there also. But what about some teak, some bolts, and a drill?

me, too

I did the same thing on my 33.5. I've seen some ladders where the owners made steps out of teak or starboard, but as yet I haven't gone that route.

Alan: West Marine sells some plastics steps that will screw onto the rungs. They have a clamp similar to a pipe clamp (made from s.s.). They have a notch for the verticle portion of the ladder. These are made by Johnson. They work well and there is no maintenance.
