Ladder for O'day 25?

My O'day 25 never had a swim/boarding ladder. It's still on my to do list from last season. The problem is finding one which looks long enough to extend into the water deep enough for these old bones to get a foot hold when trying to get back into the boat.

I once tried a temporary boarding ladder that hooked over the transom but it was not made for the high freeboard the 25 has. I had to walk the boat to shallower water before I could get my leg up to the first rung of the ladder.

Tried googling transom boarding ladders but most I found with standoff legs are about 36" fully extended and look to be too short to allow entry from the water.

Anybody buy and install a boarding ladder on a 25 or 26 that they like?

Have one? Yes. Like it? Not so much.
It's the problem you're trying to avoid: too dang short. The catch is, if the ladder is long enough to make for comfortable boarding, then it's gonna stick way above the stern rail.
Maybe a folding ladder is the answer? I'd like to know too.

I don't find it too hard, but maybe one more step would make a difference. Far more difficult is getting over the stern rail, once you've climbed up the ladder.

I have the factory ladder and it is too short, but then after the struggle to get up and and to the top rung, you have even a more difficult time trying to pass under the stern rail, or over it, which is way too high. With wet feet it is almost dangerous. I have slipped a few times only to catch the family jewels on something hard. The whole thing needs re-engineering. I keep wanting to do something about it, and then I decide I just need a bigger boat.

Also have a 25 and yes ladder is too short. This year I'm going to try hanging a loop of line, (thick) from the next to last step, that would hang well below the last step to give me a boost in reaching that first step. Also when ladder is up, the loop will still hang down.
