I have a 22 oday , 1972. I need a spreader bar and a ladder for the transom There are 2 brackets for a ladder already in place. Any suggestions. Thanks
David - I assume since you're missing a spreader that the mast is down. Is this accurate? If so I'd just take the spreader you do have to a rigger and have a similar piece cut. They should have appropriate stock and should be able to do it for you pretty easily. As far as the ladder goes - check out you marine supplier to try to find a ladder that will fit the mounts. I don't know if you'll find something exact but its worth a try. You may be able to get away with moving only one of the mounts. Justin - O'day Owners' Web
David, the "spreaders" on my 1972 23' O'Day are simple aluminum tubing about 1" in diameter, with a groove in the end for the shrouds, and a small hole for a cotter pin (thru the fitting) close to the mast. Hope this helps!
