My wife and I are looking at the newer 36' Catalina. we have noticed two styles of tables, the U shape that stays in place and the L shape table that is moved to the bulkhead. How do you like the bulkhead type table? is it sturdy when set up as a table? Do most keep it on the bulkhead? decisions, decisions,

Bulkhead for us

We ordered the bulkhead table as we live aboard for 3 weeks at a time and like the open area. We keep the table on the bulkhead unless we have more than two guests for dinner or the weather prevents eating in the cockpit. We take our meals at the "game table" when not entertaining. We leave the cushions that make both table areas into beds at home. Our philosophy is that our boat drinks 8, eats six, and sleeps 4. We may have to start carrying those cushions as grandchildren are now happening.

Table that decision

We have a '93 with a U-shape arrangement and enjoy it. since we often guests over for dinner, the U set up allows for more people. And since it converts into a large queen berth, it adds more room for sleep over guests and family. We have nick-named it the "play-pin"
