Recently we've run into a snafu with our generator on board our 450 cc. Internal pieces from the generator had come loose and began tumbling/smashing inside the housing of our generator. TJ has taken the generator apart and removed it from the compartment.

Can anyone recommend a place to find used Kohler generators for parts without paying a fortune for new? Tj is trying to fix the problem which will involve welding etc. I've been doing extensive searches on the internet and not finding much info. Also doing a search here in the forums doesn't produce very much on this issue.

Laurie, a good electric motor shop can help ya. They can do things like check it out and re-wind the coils and refurb bearings and possible bearing housings. Another avenue would be to check with an RV dealer in the area to see where they get their stuff repaired. Good luck !
