Peggy, Just read a previous thread about KO/CP, which we have used for years in our previous boat and our current boat and we are not changing-love it because it works!
The thread you wrote stated:
"Raritan K.O. is a bio-active (live bacteria) product...the bacteria work with the naturually occurring bacteria in waste to break down solids and TP and to prevent odor. Although it can break down waste equally well in both aerobic and anaerobic conditions, K.O. does require an aerobic environment to prevent odors, so it doesn't necessarily work in all tanks. However, bacteria multiply...making it unnecessary to add K.O. between pumpouts unless the boat has sat long enough for the li'l buggers to exhaust their food supply and die. Easily fixed by adding a couple of ounces to the first flush when you come back aboard.

My question is how often we should add KO, every time we pump out we add KO to the tank than we add CP to the bowl. We do not add fecal matter to the tank during the summer-or at least try not to nor do we add paper. So should we be adding KO that much? or how often?
Thanks Peggy, BTW we have your book, its great!

If you've used it for years and are happy with the way it's for you, don't change a thing...at least not about the way you're using it.

However, there's absolutely NO reason not to flush fecal matter or toilet paper. Both dissolve very quickly in the tank and the aerobic conditions that allow K.O. to work with only urine will allow it to work just as well with fecal matter. Adding water to the bowl ahead of use (use a cup from the sink if your toilet isn't designed to bring in flush water and hold it in the bowl) makes for a much cleaner easier flush.
