knot meter

Thinking about re-plugging the knot meter on my dolphin.
but I'm not sure on how to wire the system, any one have a wiring diagram for a knot meter ?
what gauge wire should I use?

You have the one with paddle wheel it's 12v input with a pair of 20 gauge pulse trigger wires going to sensor it just counts maganet going around

Most are fairly simple to wire, assuming two wires. I just bought a replacement for my antique/broken paddle wheel transducer. Mine has three wires, red, black and green. The wiring and attachment to the instrument head can be seen in the attached link:
