I broke off the knob on the kill switch. Going through the lock at chicamauga dam, I rushed back to the cockpit and impaled my leg on the threaded post. I can not find one it is not an 8,and 1/4 is too big. Anyone know the size and where to find one? I think it is a 10 or 12

The part is not sold by itself and comes with a new cable for around $25. These knobs are weather resistant so it may not be easy to find an adequate substitute. Depending on the age and smoothness (or lack of) of the cable perhaps a replacement may not be a bad idea.

You can get the knob/cable at Bayshore Marine in Annapolis. Call them or go to their web site. My guess is that Torresen Marine Diesel Direct also has them in stock.

We replaced one it was around nine feet. We got it at Torresen Marina in Muskegon MI. Fairly simple to install with two people.

Find the Yanmar dealer that services your area and order the replacement cable through them.
