It really doesn't make any difference what kind of mast it is, does it? You are going to have a forestay, backstay, upper and lower shrouds (and maybe forward or aft lowers too) about as simple as it gets.
I was speaking of the running rigging this is my first sail boat I ve always sailed a boat already rigged this oday 23 wasnt rigged so im trying to figure it all out never reefed a sail so not sure where all these lines go
Sheets:
Main sheet on a 23 is connected to the end of the boom and the triangle plate on the backstay. Unless you have a traveler- pics would help us tell you what you need to do.
Jib/Genoa sheets run through the block on the deck then back to the winch and the cleat on the cockpit coming. Depending on the size of the sail and the configuration of the boat, you may have a fixed block on the deck (good for smaller head sails), or adjustable "cars" on a track near the toe rails.
If you have a winch on the mast, many people have the jib halyard coming down on that side, so that you can have some control over the luff tension.
Your boom may have jiffy reefing and there are a variety of ways to set that up. On mine, there is a line fixed at the aft part of the boom that leads up to the reefing cringle, back down to a cheek block on the other side of the boom and forward to a cleat. You may have a reefing hook on the gooseneck, or there are other configurations where one line does the fore and aft reefing.
