I run the reefing line from the gooseneck out thru a turning block at the boom end up thru the cringle and back down to the boom ....with no place to tie it off. I'd appreciate your recommendations on what to fasten to the boom to make things easy...a bail, bracket, eyelet as well as how to attach to the boom without damaging the boom. Thanks Craig

There may be a slit...

...in the foot of the sail that will allow you to wrap/tie it off around the boom with a bowline-type of knot.

Kenyon boom reefing

My 81 h25 has the same system, I think. I have a bail on the boom to which I can tie off. Hope this helps, Jim.

Bail might work

I think the bail would work...and give flexibility based on the position of the cringle. Thanks for the response.

small bail

I have two reefing points on my H27, and I have a small bail (a 3/8" line barely fits through it) on the side of the boom under the reefing point outhaul. The lines run up through the reefing points, down around the blocks and through the boom and out at the gooseneck. A cleat is about 2 feet down the boom on the bottom to tie off the one outhaul (full sail, reefing point 1, and reefing point 2)in use. It gives you a 2:1 mechanical advantage and puts a nice down and back pull on the line, which is what you need. The tiny bail screws would not compromise the boom in any way, nor would the cleat.

Well, that obviously

didn't work!!! I wanted to send you a drawing, but it's a pdf file instead of jpg. If you want to send me your e-mail address, I'm quite sure I can e-mail it to you. PJRLMR@JUNO.COM
