Hi all , I'm new to sailing (just bought a Hunter 25 this fall) and I was wondering how you tighten your lifelines after dropping them to the bottom of the pulpit stantion to run out the jib? On my boat the pulpit stantion angles foreward thus when you reconnect the lifeline at the bottom it is slack. Thanks

Probably Not Enough Adjustment Available

The lifelines have a terminator with machine screw threads and there is a certain amount of adjustment available, maybe two to three inches total for both ends. The amount of slack you need to take out is probably of the order of six to eight inches? Maybe even a foot? If this is the case then maybe you'll need some sort of a "spacer" of the length needed and then shorten the life line and then swage a new end fitting on. The spacer might be a length of stainless steel bar with a hole screwed in one end for the life line attachment and a hole in the other end where a small shakle can be installed to attach it to the pulpit. If you get the idea you might come up with a different solution.
