This spring I changed the uphaul rope on my keel. Since I put it in the water the keel will only drop about 2/3 of the way down.
any ideas why this is? Thx.

Hi Crazy Dave. I replaced the rope with the size stated in the manual. I made sure the knot fit exactly in the hole. However, there was some previous damage to the area where the knot goes and I had to repair with some fiberglass. I am thinking this may be my problem. The keel drops down about 3/4 of the way. Perhaps my glass work was too much?

@Willemvan

I need to know a response that @splax posted and whether you have any photos of the repair. Also did you route the pins back into the correct holes holding them in place with duck tape? The first question, was the board all the way down when the centerboard line was routed up thru the compression post out to the deck organizer.? When the board was let down, did you hear a clunking sound? It is imperative the board is down with the line run thru the deck organizer. The first turning block should be attached to that line where it exits the deck organizer. Please advise.. If not, is there additional line which you can let that line out. we need to talk. Send a private message with telephone number and I will call.
