Catalina C30 Long Island
Hello all-
I've recently taken ownership of a 1980 Catalina 30. As part of my initial maintenance on the boat, I have a few keel repairs I am considering. The first is removing the wood filler in the bilge. The second is reinforcing the keel with lagbolts.

My question is, does it make sense to do both of these procedures? Or does one preclude the other? Appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

I'm not versed on the structure of the keel assembly in the C30 ,but being familair with many other keel assemblies I am confused by your question. Additionally, the mention of the lag bolts is something that has no place in any keel structure. Are you trying to strengthen the keel attachment structure?
It might be best to access drawings of the C30 bilge and keel structure and try another question on the form to solve your problem.
I don't mean to make light of your question, I was afraid that possibly no one else would respond due to the wording and wanted you to find your answer.
Good luck with your new boat. That model is a lot of fun. Enjoy.
