keel raising sysrem

going to replace my keel raising system this weekend. i assume that the best way to remove the existing turning ball would be to use a sazall and to cut it out from the bottom. right or wrong ? then installing the new pennant and vectran line on the keel. any helpfull hints ? thanks in advance. my 250 wb is on a hoist and therefore i can lower the keel all the way. i have room under the boat to use a cordless sazall. less tingling.
