I have an early 70's 15 I guess. I bought it used in about 73 or 74. I had the ropes to the keel changed out in 2001. Never used it after that fall when it was done. Today, had a devil of time getting the keel down and up. I was under water working it with someone pulling the lines topside. It was very, very hard to pull it down still after many cycles of up down. Pulling it up got easier. Then, the sheathing on the line (that pulls keel down) skinned back beneath the little plate. How do I rig new lines? Is there a type of line I need. I don't recall the keel being so hard to work after I had some locale (who I can not find now) replace the line. Did the line swell? Does the keel need some bees wax on it to make it slippery or is it just wrong fitting line from that last line change ? The boat is in the water. It does not have a trailer. I just push it in from shore at camp and winch it up at the end of season. So I gotta work on it there at camp. Ideas?
