Keel Options?

I’m looking to buy a 1995 Hunter Passage 42 cc. The listing for this particular boat says it has a draft of 6 ft. This boat has everything I want on it except the fact that it says it draws 6 ft. Is this a mistake? I can’t find anywhere that says they made this with a 6 ft draft. Everywhere talks about wing keel of less than 5 ft. Help??

Call Mars metals in Canada and they may be able to help you out as they made the keels for Hunter but it will be expensive

i don’t want to put on a new keel, I just want to know if they’re right in saying they have 6 ft draft. According to the guy I spoke with at Hunter, the passage 42 did not come with that option.

Have you called the seller? Maybe the listing has a typo.

Yes, seller said not a typo, but now is unsure of draft. However, she was sure of ballast and displacement which is different than listed. Not only different, but less, which would imply a deeper draft.

Make an offer contingent on draft. At haul out you can check it. Will cost haul out fees though.

Could be manufactured with 2 choice, a Deep draft/keel and Wing keel (shoal draft).
I bought a shoal draft and wish I had gone for deep keel

The original brochure did not list a deep fin keel as an option. Verify keel first before going through that as it is your nickel

Our 1991 P42 came with the standard shoal draft (just under five feet) bulb wing lead keel. Some recollection that you could get a fin keel if custom ordered, but uncertain about that. Really like our shoal draft keel. but does tend to drift some when close hauled/reaching. Not a big deal here.
