Keel Offset

Patrick, Your keep offset will be determined by the depth of your keel and rather or not you wish to set up the depth meter to measure from the bottom of the keel to the bottom or from the water line on the boat to the bottom. Your chose. The instructions on how to do this should be contained in the owners manual for the depth meter. Good luck, Darrel

I wondered if anyone knew the transducer depth

I want to measure water depth from surface. As the transducer is about 2ft below the surface and the boat is in the water I wondered if anyone knew exactly how far below the waterline the transducer is. I guess I could calibrate it with a lead line but our canal has a slopey bottom and its difficult to measure the exact depth under the transducer. I want to be as accurate as I can as this is Floida where inches count!

Pilot's foot

Calibrate with a lead line...and substract the pilot's foot. I.e: if the lead line measures at 10 feet, adjust you meter to read 9 feet. That is called the Pilot's foot and it will provide some safety factor when you are in those areas where inches count. Don't tell anyone at the wheel so they will be more careful and you will have a little bit more ease of mind. Good luck
