Keel measurements

I'm looking to have a trailer built for my 87 272. Since the boat is in the water I would like to know if anyone could provide the following measurements. The waterline to the top of the keel. The length of the keel, and the width of the wing on the keel. Thanks

Keel Measurements for a 272

John,Read your post yesterday a.m. and thought I'd be able to answer by yesterday evening. However Lake Erie changed my mind. Went down to the slip to move the boat for haul-out and discovered that all the water had left for the east end of the lake (strong west winds for at least two days pushed all the water towards Buffalo). Our channel to the launch/haulout had less than 2'of water in it and as you know the 272 draws a minimum of 2'-11". So now we wait for a calm period to allow the waterlevel to come back to normal or for a strong Northeast wind to push the water back toward Toledo.Meanwhile my 272 is the onliest boat in the area still afloat:-( I'm waiting for a call from the haulout crew so I can race down to the marina to pull her for the winter season. Then I will get the measurements you are looking for unless someone else posts them in the meanwhile.Wish I were in Fla. It's COLD here in NW Ohio.Tom

measurements sort of as follows:

keel is about 22 in. deep to bottom of boat. waterline is supposed to be about 35 in. ... so waterline to top of keel should be about 13 in.keel is about 66 inches long but we are not dealing with a retangle with 90 degree angles.keel wing is about 19 inches wide but does not run the length of the keelYou need to be really aware of where the support braces are in the hull as parts of the bottom are not very thick and cannot be used as trailer bracing points. Major support seems to be near mast and under steps to cabin. Best hauling out points seem to be to sling at front edge of keel and just a bit forward of cockpit bulkhead.The above information is advisory and I take no responsibility if there are errors. Thanks Vic, I can now at least get some estimates. I just meet a gentleman with an adjustable sailboat trailer so I will be able to see what the bottom of my boat looks like. From the waterline it looks like an artificial reef.
